Youth Ministries
Confirmation
Confirmation is a very important part of the Youth Ministry program at Peace. Confirmation is a two-year period of instruction in the Christian faith where youth are helped to know and trust the God of the Bible who has revealed himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is done through an in-depth study of the Ten Commandments, the Apostles Creed, the Lord’s Prayer and the Sacraments. Confirmation is taught by pastor Anthony on Sunday mornings at 9:30 from Sep to May and is open to all youth grade 7 or older.
Youth Group
On Friday evenings, young people from our church and community meet for Bible time, fun, food, games and activities.
The goal of our youth ministry can be summed up in five words: REACH, RELATE, RISE, REVEAL, and REVERE
REACH
We desire to see students diving into new life in Christ and sharing that life with others.
RELATE
We desire to see students experience Biblical community as they relate with other students and adult leaders.
RISE
We desire to see students grow in their quest to be like Christ.
REVEAL
We desire to see students model a lifestyle of service as they discover their spiritual gifts and put them into practice through ministry and mission opportunities.
REVERE
We desire to see students respond to God’s grace and to give Him their full attention in all things both publicly and privately.
What we do
Friday Night- This is our time to connect with students and a time where they can connect with each other. Currently this night is event oriented, meaning that we generally have some kind of planned event. We do things like Laser Tag, Go Carting, Mini Golfing and almost anything fun you could dream of! This is a great opportunity for students to bring their friends who don’t know Jesus to a very warm and comfortable atmosphere. We present the Gospel message clearly and with lots of love.
“Youth Alive” is our youth worship service where youth are challenged to go deep in their relationship with God. We focus on helping teens grow spiritually and bring answers to life’s problems. Youth Alive happens every Sunday (except the 1st Sunday of the month) during the school year starting at 11:00am in the youth room.
“Xtreme Night” is the serving arm of Youth ministry. On this night we help students to identify their passions and gifts and form groups based on these desires. From there we work with them to identify ways to help them serve God in their gifting. We partner these student groups with skilled adults to help them improve their talent and then we serve together.
“Xplosion” is our outreach focus. We have explosion 3-5 times a year. This is characterized by youth retreats, mission trips, community service, greatest games, tasty snacks and the most fun you could ever have. It is our desire that students bring their friends who don’t know Jesus to these events. We present the Gospel message clearly and give opportunity for students to respond.
